The Julius Bahrl Jr. steel goods factory from Solingen-Merscheid is among the smaller Solingen makers that are only partially documented today. A verified founding year is not clearly preserved in the sources; however, the company is known to have been active in the early 1930s. This dagger is an Early Model 1933 SA Dagger (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch). -

A 'blood chit' is a document carried by military personnel, addressed to civilians who may come across an armed-services member in difficulty (e.g. a shot-down pilot). It identifies the force to which the bearer belongs and displays a message requesting that the service member be rendered every assistance. -

Found by local Zulu people living at Khambula, South Africa, 1990s-early 2000s. Ian Wilkinson collection, Nottinghamshire, UK, formed since 1985.
The battle resulted in a heavy defeat for the Zulus, who had been full of confidence from their earlier victories against the British at Isandlwana and Hlobane.
