With watercolour scene composed of five women entertaining Shiva in the form of a Linga beneath a canopy, one woman seated next to a cushion, another seated playing an instrument, one standing holding a plate or bowl, landscape beyond, panel of text above and below; set in a glazed wooden frame.

Solid D-sectioned hoop with French inscription 'IN BUEN ESPOER' for 'IN GOOD HOPE', to the exterior with flowers to the shoulders and clasped hands on the raised bezel; with a stamped pellet cross and TC in crown maker's mark to the interior. 8.14 grams, 22.84 mm overall, 17.35 mm internal diameter (approximate size British M 1/2, USA 6 1/4, Europe 13.09, Japan 12)

Found whilst searching with a metal detector in Hessay, Yorkshire, UK, in July 2012 by Mr David Brooks. Accompanied by a copy of the British Museum's Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS) report no.YORYM-EB17F6. Declared and disclaimed as Treasure with reference no.2013 T21.
