PERSIA, 20TH CENTURY A.D.
16 1/3 x 12 in. (1.5 kg, 41.5 x 30.7 cm).
Composed of six men wearing turbans, seated in a landscape, text above and below; 17 rows of text to the reverse; mounted in a bifacial reveal and a glazed wooden frame.

Acquired on the UK art market, 1980s-1990s.

Acquired in the early 1990s. Property of a Berkshire, UK, gentleman.
The maker's mark is possibly a Britannia style mark composed of the first two letters of the surname of one Isaac Davenport, active 1696-1731. -
