LATE CRETACEOUS PERIOD, CIRCA 92-66 MILLION YEARS B.P.

3 3/4 in. (622 grams, 96 mm).

The main body of a vertebra with two raised ridges underneath, likely a pygal or caudal vertebra; old inked collector's number 'VR26'. [No Reserve]

Provenance

From near Harlan County Dam, Nebraska, USA.
From the private collection of Kenneth Machin (1936-2020), Buckinghamshire, UK; his collection of antiquities and natural history was formed since 1948; thence by descent.

Footnotes

Tylosaurus was an apex marine predator during the Late Cretaceous period, and is classified in the superfamily Mosasauroidea.
