Exceptional Chinese Northern Wei Caparisoned Horse
NORTHERN WEI, CIRCA 549-577 A.D.
14 3/8 in. (2 kg, 36.5 cm high).
On an integral polygonal base, in static pose with head erect; the fully detailed caparison including a breast-band with bells, billowing saddle-cloth and integral saddle; crupper with applied bosses and other ornaments; substantial remains of pigmentation.

Acquired 1990s.
From a private West Country collection, Bath, UK.
Accompanied by an original thermoluminescence analysis report no.C119d9 from Oxford Authentication.
This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by search certificate no.11991-210866.
