English Medieval Coins - Richard III - London - Boar's Head Groat 1483-1484 AD
Type 2b. Obv: facing bust within tressure with RICARD DI GRA REX ANGL Z FRANC legend and 'boar's head 2' mintmark. Rev: long cross and pellets with POSVI DEV ADIVTORE MEV and CIVITAS LONDON legends for London mint and same mintmark. 2.89 grams.
Good very fine; minor flan flaws at edge. Rare.

The boar was the personal badge of Richard III and appears as a mintmark for the period July 1483 until about June 1484.
