    Third coinage (1544-1547), by Robert Ready(?). Obv: king enthroned facing with HENRIC 8 DI GRA AGLI FRANCI Z HIBERN REX legend and 'pellet-in-annulet' mintmark. Rev: crowned arms with supporters and IHS AVTEM TRANSIENS PER MEDIUM ILLORVM IBAT legend. 5.49 grams.

    Robert Cooper Ready (1811-1901) was hired by the British Museum in 1859 to make exact electrotype copies of coins, medals and seals for study and display purposes and some of these were gifted or sold to museums and collectors around the world; this practice was continued into the 20th century by his sons Charles and August until 1931; most are marked to the edge.
