England. Tudor, Henry VII AR Groat. 1485-1487. London (Tower) mint. First Coinage. 'Lis-Signed' Issues.

(Rose) ҺЄꞂRIC ✱ DI ✱ GRA ✱ RЄX ✱ AꞂGL ✱ Z ✱ FRAꞂCIЄ, crowned facing bust within double polylobe with lis at cusps; crosses by neck / POSVI DЄVᙏ + A-DIVTOR-Є MЄVᙏ and CIVI-TAS + LOꞂ-DOꞂ (lis), long cross pattée; three pellets in quarters. North 1703; SCBC 2194. Near Very Fine. Toned. Exceedingly rare variety with saltires after DEVM and -TAS and lis after DON. The other similar known example is that of Spink, Auction 24014, 17 December 2024, lot 78.(2.99gr, 24mm, 5h.).
