SECOND INTERMEDIATE PERIOD, CIRCA 1650 B.C.
1/2 - 5/8 in. (8.54 grams total, 12-17 mm).
Comprising: three in blue-turquoise with hieroglyphs to the underside; two similar, olive green with cartouche of Thutmose III to the underside. [5]

Tapestry technique of wool and linen in purple. It is highly probable that this tapestry was part of a tunic decoration, a double segmentum, applied on the wrists of the garment and decorating the lower part of the sleeves. -

‘The Ancient Menagerie Collection’ formerly the property of a Cambridgeshire lady, collected since the 1990s and acquired from auctions and dealers throughout Europe and the USA, now ex London collection.
This may be a weight, since small bronze statuettes of various animals including frogs were used as counterbalances on scales.
