EARLY BRONZE AGE - BIFACIAL FLINT DAGGER

Circa 5,000 BC. An Early Bronze Age era bifacial knife/dagger with broad blade. The British Museum's opinion, based on the knapping techniques employed, indicates British manufacture and the general typology is well known and documented. 285 grams, 217 mm long.

Condition
Lacking the hilt stub and with a minor chip to the point; otherwise excellent and fresh. Extremely rare.

Provenance
Found near Icklingham, Suffolk, late 1970s; recorded with Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS). Accompanied by PAS printout and a copy of the museum drawing.
