A flat-section disc brooch with central hole, ring with radiating S-curved lines, domed rivet with incised saltire and beaded rim; the plate with three recessed panels separated by notched spokes and similar outer rim, each panel with a reserved Style I beast contorted to fit the confines of the panel; pin-loop and catchplate to the reverse.
PROVENANCE:
Property of a Cambridgeshire lady; acquired by her mother from a private collection in Chester, UK, 1980s; by descent 2007. Supplied with a positive X-Ray Fluorescence metal analysis certificate.
