Confederate States of America, One Hundred Dollars T49. Richmond, 2 December 1862. S/N: 4214.

In the centre, bust of socialite Lucy Petway Holcombe Pickens to right, wearing laurel wreath. To the left, two soldiers in military attires, wearing hats and holding riffles, one sitting, the other standing. To the right, bust of senator George Wythe Randolph slightly to left. Criswell 347. 185mm x 78mm.

Condition as seen.

PROVENANCE:
From the private collection of author and historian Dr DeWitt Bailey, one of the global authorities on the confederate army in the US civil war; thence by descent to his grandson.
