Rectangular block with recess to obverse, Buddha standing on a dais with hands raised in greeting.

    Carved in the depicting a robed traveller on a donkey; the figure wearing an ankle-length robe and faceted cap, the arms bent and hands pierced to accept reins (now absent); gesso to the surface and remains of red, white and other pigment; hair applied to form the tail; underside with old Cotteril collector's label '2641.160.99 / China / Ming Dynasty / 1550-1600'. 703 grams, 29.7 cm
