Chinese Tang Guardian Soldier Figure
TANG DYNASTY, 618-907 A.D. OR LATER
21 1/4 in. (4.35 kg, 54 cm high).
Modelled armoured and triumphantly trampling a creature beneath his feet, his helmet topped with a fierce-looking mythical bird, his right arm raised with clenched fist, the left placed defiantly on his hip; polygonal base below; remains of polychrome pigmentation.
