CHINESE SONG TERRACOTTA TILE WITH SEATED SCHOLAR
SONG DYNASTY, 960-1279 A.D. OR LATER
18 in. (8.15 kg, 46 cm).

With high-relief figure of a seated scholar in floor-length robe holding a wreath (or prayer beads) in his right hand, his bell-shaped sleeve covering his left arm resting on his knee; wearing a tight-fitting cap and with a neat vandyke beard.
