SONG DYNASTY, CIRCA 960-1279 A.D.
13 1/4 x 10 1/2 in. (4.35 kg, 33.5 x 26.5 cm).
Rectangular with ornate recess, high-relief image of a group of chrysanthemums and foliage in a trapezoidal container with splayed legs and running hound motif to the front.

Of conical form, with inverted rim and discoid foot, the interior and exterior decorated with a lustrous blackish glaze shot through with streaks of 'hare's fur' markings, the exterior with the brown ware visible towards the foot, chip to rim. 341 grams, 12.6 cm wide
