Chinese Northern Wei Brick with Seated Buddha
NORTHERN WEI DYNASTY, 386-534 A.D.
10 1/4 x 5 3/4 in. (2.45 kg, 26 x 14.5 cm).
Rectangular with recess to the front face, carefully modelled nimbate figure of the Buddha in the half-round seated on a ledge, hands folded in the lap.
