Chinese Han Terracotta Horse Torso
HAN DYNASTY, 206 B.C.-220 A.D. OR LATER
21 1/4 in. (6.5 kg, 54 cm).
Modelled with head erect and ears pricked, lips parted to reveal the teeth, painted saddlecloth, harness and bride detailing; sockets for the legs and the separate tail.

In the mid 15th century a freighting junk loaded with fine Vietnamese pottery sank in an area of the South China Sea called the 'Dragon’s Embrace.' This vessel is part of the shipwreck cargo recovered off the coast of Vietnam at Hoi An. The ceramics themselves were probably made in the area of Chu Dau. -
