Chinese Han Dynasty Mingqi Figure

HAN DYNASTY, 206 B.C.-220 A.D. OR LATER

24 3/8 in. (3.5 kg total, 62 cm including stand).

Unglazed nude figure with pigment to the hair, sockets to the shoulders to accept posable arms; supplied with a custom-made stand.

This vessel is part of the shipwreck cargo recovered off the coast of Vietnam at Hoi An. The ceramics themselves were probably made in the area of Chu Dau.
