CHINESE HAN DYNASTY BRONZE BELT HOOK WITH INSCRIPTION
HAN DYNASTY, 206 B.C.-220 A.D. OR LATER
7 1/8 in. (107 grams, 18 cm).

Fluted teardrop shape with hooked narrow end, fixing stud to the reverse, three columns of later stamped text to the face.

PROVENANCE:
From an important West Country collection, 1980s.
This lot is accompanied by an illustrated lot declaration signed by the Head of the Antiquities Department, Dr Raffaele D'Amato.

Cf. similar in the collection of the British Museum under accession no.1950,1117.138.
