Chinese Ceramic Tang Dynasty Polo Player

(Ceramic, 2.7 kg, 34 cm.).

Tang Dynasty, 618–906 AD. A ceramic figurine of a courtly lady playing polo on a galloping horse; the left arm outstretched, the right arm raised, the body slightly twisted; the horse in extended pose with saddle blanket; supplied with a custom-made display stand.

Property of a London Gentleman; acquired before 2000.
