Chinese Ceramic Bull Figurine

TANG DYNASTY, 618-906 AD

16 1/2" (5.3 kg, 42 cm).

A finely modelled bull figurine, standing on a rhomboidal base; the pose advancing with head raised; harness modelled to the rump, flanks and head, with domed bosses and gilded trefoil pendants; red pigment to the body.

Provenance

UK art market, acquired prior to 1980.
