Celts in Eastern Europe AE Unit. 3rd-2nd century BC. Danubian region. Imitations of Philip II of Macedon.
Diademed head of Apollo to left; beaded border following outline of head / ΠΑΠΠΥ, youth on horseback to right. For prototype, cf. SNG ANS 960. Good Very Fine. Bold Celticised head, beautiful dark green patina. Unpublished in major Celtic catalogues. Rare.(6.68gr, 19mm, 6h.).
