Celtic Iron Age Coins - Catuvellauni - Agr - Horse Gold 1/4 Stater 35-43 AD

Obv: corn ear without central stalk with [CA]M to left and CVN to right. Rev: horse rearing right with AGR below. Extremely fine; arguably the finest known example. Excessively rare (only four others recorded).(1.37 grams.).

Property of a lady; acquired from her son; previously with TimeLine Auctions Sale 77, lot 2077; formerly Brodie Hall, Kent, UK, collection; acquired from Chris Rudd (with envelope and ticket); found near Stowmarket, Suffolk, 2009.
