CELTIC BRONZE DRAGONESQUE BROOCH
CIRCA 1ST CENTURY BC-1ST CENTURY AD
2 1/3" (Bronze, 15 grams, 60 mm).

A cast bronze dragonesque brooch wirth s-curved body, discoid lobe head with elliptical ear and nose; discoid lobe tail with elliptical fins; incised ring-and-dot to head and tail and series of three on the body, red enamel in the rings; substantial decorated pin with coiled loop, billetted to outer face.

PROVENANCE:
Ex Bedfordshire collection; found East Midlands, UK, in the 1970s.
