COM[MIF], warrior on horse to right holding oval shield / VERI-CΛ, warrior on horse to right holding spear. ABC 1238; Van Arsdell 530-1; SCBC 133. 1.28gr, 12mm, 3h.
Near Extremely Fine. Reverse warrior superbly displayed, clear spear and inscription, all letters visible.

From Chris Rudd footnote: Verica Cavalry Duo is the only Ancient British coin which shows two cavalrymen, one on each side. Verica must have been proud of his mounted knights. A Scarce type of great historical interest because it shows how military horsemen of this period were equipped. -

From the Dummer hoard, Dummer, Basingstoke and Deane, Hampshire, UK; declared as Treasure under the Treasure Act and disclaimed with Treasure reference no.2022T75. Recorded with the British Museum's Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS) with reference no.HAMP-02780A. Accompanied by a copy of a letter from the British Museum explaining that the Crown's interest in this find has been disclaimed. Accompanied by a copy of the Treasure Act receipt from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport. Accompanied by a copy of the Report on find of Potential Treasure for H M Coroner.
