Celticized head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress / [...]ΞΑΝΔ[...], Celticised Zeus seated to left on low throne, holding long sceptre in his left hand and eagle standing to right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram(?). Cf. OTA 575. 2.95gr, 15mm, 12h.

Near Extremely Fine. Reverse warrior superbly displayed, clear spear and inscription, all letters visible.

From Chris Rudd footnote: Verica Cavalry Duo is the only Ancient British coin which shows two cavalrymen, one on each side. Verica must have been proud of his mounted knights. A Scarce type of great historical interest because it shows how military horsemen of this period were equipped. -
