Three-men-in-a-boat motif./ Central thunderbolt, Y-shapes, stylised bird to right. ABC 2208; VA 1242; BMC 2734-47; S 368. Near Extremely Fine. Neat flan of good silver clear 'bird'.(1.06gr, 11mm, 8h.).

Near Extremely Fine. Lightly toned silver, well centred horse, clear lyre. Rare.

As you can tell from the heavy weight and fine style (possibly engraved by a Gaulish die cutter), this must be one of the first silver units struck in Britain. A well documented, pedigree piece, with a beautifully bold globular horse. -
