Celtic Anglo-Gallic GB5 - Suessiones - Gold Stater

Circa 1st century BC. Obv: wreath design with 'face' symbol above crescents. Rev: triple-tailed horse right with charioteer's arm and showing and 'wheel' below. This issue was the protoype from which the British SO5-6 Selsey Two-Faced type was apparently copied (see S. 38). Gold, 6.07 grams.

Extremely fine, extremely rare thus.
