Slipper-shaped in plan with spike handle, raised rim to the filler hole, broad shoulder with raised radiating bars, stub nozzle with ring-and-dot above, low basal ring. [No Reserve]

The stance is based on the famous Venus Anadyomene image of the goddess emerging from the sea, as shown in the mosaic at Casa del Principe di Napoli in Pompeii. -
