Bronze Age Decorated Palstave Axehead
CIRCA 1800-1200 B.C.
4 3/4 in. (292 grams, 11.9 cm).
A low-flanged palstave with a short 'squared' butt, a triangular-section blade with a convex cutting edge, deep lateral flanges, a stop and a median rib; butt partly absent. [No Reserve]
ProvenanceFrom a UK private collection since at least 1946.
