NEOLITHIC PERIOD, CIRCA 6000 B.P.
6 1/8 in. (345 grams, 15.6 cm).
Plano-convex in section with a narrow butt and a broad cutting edge. [No Reserve]
Provenance
From the collection of Richard Widdowson.
Richard owned an antiquity shop in Southern England and amassed a great and varied Stone Age collection.
Purchased from Mr Widdowson in the 1980s and then more recently from a collector in the UK.

Mr Chevais field-walked extensively at GP, and collected a huge variety of tools and debitage over a twenty-five-year period between 1910-1935. -

Found in 1901. From the collection of Captain Streatfield, who helped to fund the archaeology excavations at Farnham, Kent. After Captain Streatfield passed away in the 1940s, his collection was sold at auction to a gentleman in Kent. The collection was then sold again in the 2020’s via a UK auction house. -

Found in 1901. From the collection of Captain Streatfield, who helped to fund the archaeology excavations at Farnham, Kent.
