3 1/8 x 7 1/4 in. (280 grams total, case: 8 x 18.5 cm).
Two-piece optical instrument in leather-covered steel hinged case; hand-drawn monogram 'WEM' in ink to internal recess and pencilled 'WRS'. [No Reserve]

The battle resulted in a heavy defeat for the Zulus, who had been full of confidence from their earlier victories against the British at Isandlwana and Hlobane. -
