BRITISH ANGLO-SAXON - CNUT - SHORT CROSS PENNY
(1.17 grams.).

C.1029-1035/6 AD. Thetford mint; moneyer Wineman. Obv: profile bust left with CNVT .T RECX legend having an extra letter T after the bust. Rev: short voided cross with +PINEMAN ON DEO legend. Near extremely fine; obverse about as struck with superb portrait.

LITERATURE:
S. 1159; N. 790. Possibly a reverse die duplicate of EMC 1015.3871 but the obverse die apparently not listed.
