A ceramic black figure ware neck-amphora, with flat rim and short neck decorated in red pigment with olive branch; bulbous body with panel to each side with female headed winged sphinxes facing one with plant between, row of lotus flower petals to the top; panels of red paint below with stylised open lotus flower; dome-shaped base with black pigment.
PROVENANCE:
Property of a European gentleman living in London; previously from a German collection formed in the early 1980s. Accompanied by a copy of thermoluminescence analysis report no.N117a76 by Oxford Authentication Ltd.
