Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Nauticalia Ltd and The Cutty Sark Trust, and an information sheet on the Cutty Sark. This lot is accompanied by an illustrated lot declaration signed by the Head of the Antiquities Department, Dr Raffaele D'Amato.

    The Cutty Sark was a clipper ship, a type of sailing ship designed for speed and efficiency. Muntz metal (or 'naval brass' or 'yellow metal') is a brass alloy of 60% copper and 40% zinc, with a trace of iron. It is named after George Fredrick Muntz, a metal-roller in Birmingham, England, who commercialized the alloy following his patent in 1832.
