Modelled nude, squatting with left arm extended holding a bow and right arm at the chin in the act of drawing the string; nude except for a crested helmet. [No Reserve]

    The union of an eighteenth-century Italian gem engraving with a later English mount reflects a broader nineteenth-century practice of integrating earlier engraved gems into newly conceived settings.
