EGYPTIAN APIS BULL STATUETTE
LATE NEW KINGDOM, 21ST DYNASTY, 1069-945 BC
3 3/4" (365 grams, 95mm).

A bronze figurine of the sacred Apis bull with sun-disc fronted by uraeus between the horns, standing on a rectangular base; mounted on a custom-made chamfered wooden stand with old ticket to the underside 'Vache Athor / XXI Dynastie / trouvé à Memphis'.

PROVENANCE:
Property of a Swedish collector; acquired in 2009 from Aaron Gallery, London, UK; previously in an old French collection in Paris since the 1970s; accompanied by a copy of the Aaron Gallery invoice, receipt, and correspondence regarding the provenance.
