Anglo-Saxon. Secondary Sceattas AR Sceat. Circa 730-750. Mint in East Anglia (Ipswich). Series R8.

Radiate bust to right with C-shaped ear; [to left, Λ flanked by annulets]; annulet and runic EA to right / 'Standard' with central annulet, chevrons in upper corners, diagonal lines in lower; crosses on each side, radiating line on each corner. Abramson 11-120; cf. North 157; SCBC 813A. Very Fine.(0.79gr, 12mm, 6h.).

From the private collection of John Meredith, acquired since the 1990s; thence by descent.
