Anglo-Saxon, Kings of All England. Edward the Confessor AR Penny. Struck circa 1059-1062. York mint; Thorr, moneyer. Hammer Cross type (BMC xia, Hild. G var.).

EDPARD-D REX, crowned bust to right, sceptre before / ✠ ÐORR ON EOFERPI, voided cross, arms terminating in inward-facing crescents; annulet in fourth quarter. North 828; SCBC 1182. Good Very Fine. Toned.(1.27gr, 19mm, 6h.).
