Anglo-Saxon, Kings of All England. Cnut AR Penny. Struck circa 1024-1030. Stamford mint; Osweard, moneyer. Pointed Helmet type (BMC xiv, Hild. G).

✠ CNVT RECX A :, bust to left, wearing pointed helmet; trefoil-tipped sceptre before / ✠ OSPERD ON • NSTAN, voided short cross, limbs united at base by two concentric circles with pellet in centre; in each angle, broken annulet enclosing pellet. North 787; SCBC 1158. Good Very Fine. Apparently the only variant with this reverse legend arrangement.(0.90gr, 19mm, 12h.).
