Anglo-Saxon, Kings of All England. Aethelred II AR Penny. Struck circa 991-997. Canterbury mint; Leofstan, moneyer. Crux type (BMC iiia, Hild. C).
✠ ÆÐELRÆD REX AN[...], bare-headed bust to left; trefoil-tipped sceptre to left / ✠ LE[O]FSTAN M-O CÆN, voided cross with C-R-V-X in angles. North 770; SCBC 1148. Good Very Fine. Edge chipped.(1.11gr, 20mm, 12h.).
