Eoferwic (York) mint; Oban moneyer. Helmet type (BMC viii, Hild. E). Struck circa 1003-1009. ✠ AEÐELRED REX ANG (NG ligate), armoured bust to left, wearing radiate helmet / ✠ OBΛN M-O E:OFR, voided long cross with triple-crescent ends and pellet at centre; in each quarter, trefoil on pile. North 775; SCBC 1152. About Good Very Fine. Flan crack. Extremely rare combination of moneyer and mint for this type. No other examples on CoinArchives.(1.35gr, 20mm, 7h.).

    Harold I Harefoot. Jewel Cross type (BMC i, Hild. A), Skuli at York. 1016-1035. + HΛROLD RECX., diademed bust to left / + SCVLA ON EOFERPICC (trefoil), cross composed of four ovals united at base by two concentric circles enclosing a pellet. BMC -; North 802; SCBC 1163. 1.05gr, 17mm, 6h.

    Good Very Fine. Pierced for use as a pendant to the 'O' and subsequently plugged. Extremely Rare. Only two coins recorded on the Medieval Coin Corpus and SCBI with this mint spelling.
