ANGLO-SAXON GILT DRINKING HORN TERMINAL
LATER 8TH CENTURY AD
1 1/4" (8.01 grams, 32mm).

A silver-gilt funicular mount, probably the terminal from a drinking horn, with bilinear border and three panels of dense chip-carved interlace framing slender standing beasts; butt jointed along the long edge.

Found Cranfield, Bedfordshire, UK, 2013.

PUBLISHED:
Recorded with the Portable Antiquities Scheme with reference number BE-E811E5; accompanied by a print out of the PAS report.

LITERATURE:
