Anglo-Saxon Gilt-Bronze Shield Mount
6TH-7TH CENTURY AD
1" (11 grams, 23 mm).
A cast chip-carved discoid mount with heavy gilding, the rim pelletted; central motif of four serpents bound in a knot, each body formed of three strands, the central strand beaded; remains of three studs to the reverse.

Found Saxby, Lincolnshire, UK; in 1999.
