Anglo-Saxon Gilt Bronze Button Brooch
6TH CENTURY A.D.
3/4 in. (5.17 grams, 19.7 mm).
Large example of the type (Avent's Class Ai) with deep flange to the rim, inner collar with pellets, central helmetted mask with scaphoid mouth, remains of pin lug and catchplate to reverse.
