Of Avent's Class A(ii) with flange to the rim, inner collar, central helmetted mask with scaphoid mouth; remains of pin lug and catchplate to reverse. [No Reserve]

The brooch is classified as Penn and Brugmann's SM2 type, small-long with trefoil headplate; most of its features can be paralleled from the cruciform brooch typology. -
