Anglo-Saxon Gilt Bronze Animal Style 1 Mount

CIRCA 6TH CENTURY A.D.

1 3/8 in. (7.4 grams, 35 mm).

Discoid with central tondo decorated with four impressed lentoids and surrounding pellet band, rim of Salin Style I Tiermensch motifs with remains of border.

Provenance

Found Saxmundham, Suffolk, UK, in 1979.
Property of a Nottinghamshire gentleman.
