Anglo-Saxon Coins - Ecgberht of Wessex - Winchester / Bosa - SAXON Monogram Penny
802-839 AD, BMC xviii. Obv: SAXON monogram with +ECGBEORHT REX legend. Rev: central cross with +BOZA MONETA legend for the moneyer Bosa at a south-western mint (believed to be Winchester). Very fine; small striking split at edge. Very rare; the dies apparently not previously recorded, thus unique in this regard.(1.26 grams.).
