Ancient Greek Coins - Macedonia - Alexander III (the Great) - Countermarked AR Tetradrachm 187-186 B.C.
Aspendos, Pamphylia mint, dated year 26. Obv: head of Herakles right, wearing lionskin headdress, countermark of Seleukid anchor. Rev: ALEXANDROY legend with Zeus seated left, holding eagle and sceptre; AS over KC in left field. 15.92 grams.
